Subject: Sprinkler systems
Date: Mon, 15 Sep 2003 09:54:37 -0400 From: Daniel CrowlSubject: Sprinkler systems In my opinion, the right thing to do is to install a sprinkler system in new construction. Sudies by the NFPA have shown that 1) fire fatalities are reduced to essentially zero in a sprinklered facility, and 2) the damage caused by the water from the sprinkler system is always less than the damage caused by a fire without sprinklers. I got into an argument with our librarian over sprinkler damage. She did not want her books damaged by water. I told her that was fine - as long a books were more valuable that humans!
